Context

Bliss Bodywork is a massage and acupuncture studio on 17th Ave in Longmont, open since 2010, with several licensed massage therapists and a licensed acupuncturist. It has 5.0 stars from 69 Google reviews and books through Square.

The goal

Let any therapist pick up exactly where the last session ended, and give the owner a clear view of which clients are moving between therapists and which have gone quiet.

What we fixed

  • Each client keeps one card, set from their phone: where to focus, what to leave alone, the pressure they like, a line in their own words and how they like the room.
  • Every therapist and the acupuncturist reads that card before the session, along with what worked last time.
  • The owner sees who moves between therapists and who has gone quiet.

Security and IT checks

  • Only the owner can add or remove who can open cards.
  • Every time a card is opened, the studio keeps a note of who opened it.
  • The card is a preferences card, not a medical record: no diagnoses and no medical history.
  • No card or payment details are held. Booking stays with the studio's booking page.
  • Cards are for clients 18 and over.
  • How much a session helped (1 to 5) is seen by the owner only.
  • Clients can download their card or ask to delete it.

The feature

Each client keeps one card, set from their phone. Every therapist and the acupuncturist reads that card before the session with what worked last time, so a regular never has to explain themselves twice.

Both sides of the build

A screen for the client and a screen for the owner, shown with sample names and sample data.

Client view

One card, set from the client's phone

The client marks where to focus and what to leave alone on a body map, picks a pressure from gentle to deep and adds a note in their own words. The card also holds room preferences (table warmer, quiet or chat, scents), the next visit, what worked last time and the visit history, with a list of who can see it.

Owner view

The owner's overview

The overview shows cards clients updated this week, cards read before today's sessions, clients seeing more than one therapist and clients who have gone quiet. Each quiet client has a Copy a note button. The studio sends nothing: the owner copies the note and sends it from her own phone. Today's book shows who has read each card, and delete requests land under Requests.
